The raw materials for grass meal are crop stalks and pastures that do not contain toxic substances. For example, corn stalks, sorghum stalks, corn straw, peanut skins, bean straw, alfalfa, sativa, clover, red bean grass and other pastures can be used as grass meal materials.

The mechanical choice can be a crusher with screen holes that can crush the straw into 1 cm. Various raw materials are crushed separately, that is, gramineous plants and legumes are crushed separately to prepare feeds in proportion.

Production method Mix the corn stalk grass powder and alfalfa powder in a ratio of 3:1, and then pile the mixed grass powder in a place with a higher temperature in the fermentation room, pile it into a 30-50 cm thick square pile, insert the thermometer, Cover the top with sack, straw mat, plastic cloth, or cover with a layer of 3-6 cm thick grass powder to maintain its temperature and humidity; the temperature in the pile reaches 50°C, fermentation takes 1 to 1.5 days, and the best fragrance can be smelled Fermentation is successful when the grass powder is soft, cooked, hot and fragrant; the indoor temperature should not be lower than 5℃; the humidity of the grass powder should be no water drips between the fingers when the hand is tight. Leave some fermented grass powder as a primer for the next fermentation. For every 100 kg of fermented grass meal, add 0.5 kg of salt and 0.5 kg of bone meal, mix with appropriate amount of cornmeal, bran, tofu residue, and carrots. After mixing, it can be fed directly to sheep.
