What are the symptoms of bovine mite disease?

The characteristic symptoms of bovine and sheep mite disease are severe itching, hair loss, skin inflammation, crust formation, or scaling.

Scabies usually occurs in areas with few hairs and softness. For example, goats mainly occur around the lips, eye circles, back of the nose and the roots of the ears, and can spread to the underarms, under the abdomen and the hairless areas of the limbs. Sheep mainly occurs on the head, including around the lips, on both sides of the mouth, the edge of the nose and the lower part of the ears. Cattle are mostly confined to the head and neck, and can spread to other parts in severe infections. The skin becomes red and thick, followed by papules and blisters, and secondary bacterial infections can form pustules. When severely infected, the animal is thin, the skin of the diseased part forms wrinkles or cracks, and is dry and desquamated. Herders call it "dry scabies." A small number of sick sheep and calves can die due to loss of appetite and high exhaustion.

Pitch mites usually occur in areas with dense and long hair, such as sheep on the back and buttocks, and then spread to the sides of the body. Cattle mostly occurs in the neck, horn base, and tail root, spread to both sides of the lapels and shoulder blades, and spread to the whole body in severe cases. Goats often occur on the inner surface of the ear shell, the base of the ear, around the lips, eye circles, nose, and back of the nose, and can also spread to the underarms and under the abdomen. Large areas of hair loss are formed in the affected area, blisters and pustules are formed on the skin, and the skin becomes thick and thick. Due to the exudation of lymphatic fluid and tissue fluid and the animals biting each other, the affected area is wet, and the herders call it "wet scabies". In the winter morning, I saw a layer of hoar frost on the affected area, which was very eye-catching. The parasitic location and symptoms of buffalo itch mites are basically the same as those of bovine itch mites, but blisters-like lesions occur on the local skin, and the epidermal stratum corneum falls off in pieces. When severely infected, cattle and sheep are mentally exhausted, appetite is greatly reduced, and death occurs.

Local heat and pain.

The difference is that most of the parasites are in thinner and more hidden places, such as the root of the ear, groin, under the root of the tail, the inner side of the ear shell, and the elbow fossa under the abdomen.
